Notification channels

The outage signal arrives where the team will see it.

Response

The task

Teams live in different messengers, and internal systems expect events via API. A notification nobody has read is useless.

How it is solved

Channels are described once and used in escalation and on-call. Quiet hours in the right time zone can be set for each channel. A webhook is signed with HMAC so the recipient can verify the sender.

What is included

  • Telegram
  • Email
  • SMS
  • Slack
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Webhook with an HMAC signature
  • Quiet hours with a time zone
  • The recipient address is masked in the interface

Limitations

  • There are no voice calls yet.
  • There are no direct PagerDuty and Opsgenie integrations: a webhook replaces them.

What depends on the plan

This feature is available in every plan and has no separate limit.

Questions about this feature

Can I send events to my own system?

Yes. A webhook sends the event to your URL with an HMAC signature to verify authenticity.
